It’s official, spring has come and the garden has started to bloom…but then it snowed! I love this time of year and all of its beauty so despite what’s going on with the weather we’re going to bring a little spring indoors with an easy and quick DIY.
This one is so simple taking under 15-minutes from start to finish and uses items that you likely have around the house.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Frame (I chose a 7x9 but you can use whatever size you have or like)
- Mason jar (size will again depend on the look you're going for and the size of frame you choose)
- Greenery and/or flowers (get inspired!)
- Twine
- Scissors
Begin by cutting about 2 feet of twine (for a smaller-sized mason jar).
Wrap the twine around the top of your mason jar and secure with a knot, keeping one end of the twine longer.
Tip: Use the natural grooves of the top of the mason jar to help hold the twine in place.
Using the longer end, continue to wrap the twine around the top part of your jar concealing your knot. Keep wrapping until the desired width or look of the wrapped twine is achieved (I made mine about an inch wide). Just make sure that you have enough twine to attach to your frame at the end.
Knot the base of the long end of the twine to the twine that you just wrapped around the jar. This will be the back of your mason jar display so that the knot does not show. You should still have a long piece of twine.
With another simple knot attach the long end of twine now fastened to your mason jar to your frame. You can play with the height of how far your mason jar will hang from the frame depending on where you make your knot. Cut any extra twine from your knot.
Fill the mason jar with water and greens and secure the frame to your wall. That’s it! A simple addition of colour to any wall that will bring the outdoors in.
