GOOD, BETTER, BEST DEGREES OF FRAMING

This time of year you may have a graduate in your family and want to celebrate their achievement.  Here are 3 ways to showcase a degree.

Good

This is the look that clients are often trying to achieve when framing a degree. Simple, elegant and timeless, this design features a 1 1/4" traditionally shaped, black frame with a gold interior bead as well as two mats; the top mat is a neutral to create the feeling of space and the bottom is a dark accent that contrasts against the degree. The dark accent mat may be small but it has a very important role as it ties the text on the degree, the mats and the frame all together creating a harmonious and pleasing presentation.

Better

If you want to take your degree framing to the next level, this treatment has several features that can elevate any design. Using a medium sized frame and wider mats brings an air of importance to the subject item. In this example we've added a fillet that sits under the mat layers, which brings an additional layer of depth and elegance.

Best

Some achievements carry more importance then others, this third example shows how to communicate that through framing design. Start off with a great frame and don't be afraid to go big! This frame measures 3" wide and it's beautiful wood grain, slight luster and outside brass accent gives the degree an understated yet powerful presence. The design is further complimented by using two raw silk mats in complimentary colours, a matching brass fillet and inside black mat accent. All the elements come together to create a presentation worthy of a remarkable achievement.
