SOME OF OUR FAVOURITE FAQS

Q: Is the custom framing done on site?

A: All of our framing is done on site at our workshop at Dorval's Le Frame Shoppe. Each item that you have trusted with us at our Westmount and Beaconsfield stores get ‘white glove’ chauffeur service by us, in our delivery vehicle to the workshop and then back again, when the item is ready. At any time during business hours, we can give you an update as to where your order stands and when you can expect your newly framed treasures to be ready. Finally, rest assured that we also can make special arrangements to have your work fitted and finished either at the Westmount location or at your home depending on the needs and value of your piece.

Q: Is my artwork or treasured item safe?

A: Yes, not only is it safe in our hands, it will be even safer once we have framed it! We use acid-free and conservation materials as well as offer a range of UV protection and museum glass. In addition, our head framer has over 40 years of custom and specialty framing experience. He’s the best in the business, loves what he does and oversees the care of every item in the Le Frame Shoppe workshop.

Q: How long does it take for the work to be done?

A: Generally speaking we ask for 10 days of your patience to complete the order. We can also accommodate most rushes. If there is a deadline, please let us know in advance when you would like your frame ready. That way our frame experts can help you create a design that can be accomplished by the due date. When it comes to some of the very involved designs we love to create, it can take a little longer, but trust us…it is always worth the wait!

Q: Why can custom framing seem so expensive?

A: Today the market is flooded with frame products that can seem quite inexpensive when compared to custom framing. Most of these products are created in large scale quantities with subpar material, automated workmanship and generic design. In contrast, custom framing is made specifically for your treasured piece. Many of the mouldings you’ll find at a custom frame shop are crafted by artisans, using techniques handed down from generation to generation. Combined with the knowledge of an experienced framing design professional, the results can be spectacular! There is great value associated with custom framing. You may save some money in the short term with a framed product…but at what cost?

Q: What if I don't like my framing when I come to pick it up?

A: We pride ourselves in being framing design professionals and therefore the journey we took with you to discover the best-suited design for your work rarely ends in disappointed. We all work hard to give you your 'wow' moment at the time of the reveal and are equally disappointment if the result is less than expected. At Le Frame Shoppe, we want the frame that’s hanging on your wall to be nothing less than the reflection of an amazing experience and we will do what it takes to make it right.
