A closer look at burl wood frames

There’s something inherently special about burl wood.

No two pieces are exactly alike. Each reveals its own pattern, movement, and character. Incorporated into our custom frame designs, burl wood adds a secondary story that complements the piece being framed and becomes an integral part of the overall design.

Rather than striving for uniformity, each section of the burl moulding brings its own personality to the frame, complete with natural variations that we can't help but celebrate. Grain shifts, tonal differences, and subtle imperfections add a uniqueness that makes the finished piece feel collected, with no two pieces exactly the same!

These warm natural burl wood mouldings by Roma Moulding have the perfect mix of cream and cinnamon tones.

The charm continues in the juxtaposition of the frame’s clean, defined structural lines with the expressive character of the burl wood finish. Together, they create a thoughtful balance between simplicity and organic beauty that feels especially at home in the fall.
