The best way to create something that is truly yours is by telling your story, and gallery walls continue to be one of the best ways to do this. They have evolved beyond simple arrangements into highly intentional compositions. Incorporate artisanal works, heirloom pieces, travel finds, and meaningful photography that mix scale, medium, and history. Before you know it, your wall will become a living narrative.

The artisanal push

This spring, there's a push for hand-crafted artisanal elements. With their gorgeous detailing, colours and 'one-of-a-kind' embrace, they are taking center stage as striking wall displays. Textiles and tiles are an easy, impactful way to bring artisanal pieces onto your walls.

Textiles: Woven pieces, vintage fabrics, and scarves add richness and dimension to a space that, when framed, not only preserves them but also elevates them into statement pieces. These tactile elements bring a grounded, organic feel that is perfect for transitioning out of winter’s starkness.

Tiles: We’ve all come across those beautifully hand-painted tiles while travelling. So intricate, unique, and hard to leave behind! Only to pass them up, wondering what we’d do with just one. The answer? Turn it into art. Whether framed within a larger arrangement or displayed on a kitchen shelf, your tile will shine.

Textured woods

There’s a noticeable shift toward deeper, more expressive materials in interiors. Dark, textured woods, like reclaimed or burlwood, are having a moment. Their natural patterning and richness add instant sophistication and depth, giving the artwork a sense of permanence and presence.

Mixed metals

One of my favourite pairings is dark wood and metal. Together, they strike the perfect balance, making them a natural fit for spring’s embrace of mixed metals. To balance the weight of darker woods, metallic elements help lighten the scene. You can easily achieve this with stacked frames. Pair a rich wood base with a slim metallic accent or choose a moulding that incorporates the two elements. ​

When leaning into the mixed metal trend, framing offers an opportunity to tie together metallic accents from existing finishes in a room or incorporate complementary tones for added depth.
