The project

This small tapestry was handmade by our client's grandmother and will hang in a space with more of her grandmother's rugs. We got on board to deliver something spectacular!

The design

We chose to tip the tapestry on a creamy ivory background. This contrasting tone really helps the tapestry to stand out.  

For richness and warmth, a gold, wood moulding with rustic markings and small beading on the inner lip was used to craft the frame. This moulding has a red scratching to the finish, which beautifully picks up the reddish clay threads of the rug and keeps with the aesthetic of the other pieces in the place where it will hang. 

Every tassel was perfectly brushed and evenly placed before glass was added over the small rug.

The details, the colours, the elegance and sentiment all come together to create a beautiful and timeless piece.
