Jayne was thrilled to take this order and the end result was incredible! Today’s blog, we’re talking about all that went into the two ammonites project.
Our clients’ eyes lit up when they were told of what our workshop could produce for their amazing ammonites. They wanted to be “wowed” and well…that’s what we do! They came to the right place! :)
The Robert’s cut is a cut that we’ve named after our production manager, a man with many years of custom framing experience and mad skill! We essentially create our own built up shadow box using frames. The finish is outstanding! Here you can see 2 sets of mouldings; 1 set cut as a standard frame and 1 set cut as the infamous Robert's cut. 
The standard cut frame fits into the Robert's cut frame creating the exact finish we’re looking for. Truly custom work here!
On the left is the Robert's cut frame now joined and on the right is the joined standard frame. We stacked the 2 to create a custom, deep and decorative frame that is unique and perfect for our clients’ needs.
The ammonites are mounted onto the custom-sized backing mat in a lovely sage. We’re ready to fit these beauties!
We designed these items to be recessed in the back of the frame. We crafted a custom spacer that will achieve this while keeping the glass tight to the inside lip.
Our little ‘step’ has been created that allows the items to sit within the shadow box at a custom distance.
