We’ve seen how frames can elevate and personalize your wedding décor in last week’s blog. Now it’s time to see how framing can help preserve and capture memories from one of the biggest days in your life.
So much time and thought goes into every detail of your wedding. You adore everything that you choose. These details represent you, your husband, your love. So after the big day is over, in addition to framing up the gorgeous wedding photos, go through some of the pieces that best reflect your day and protect them from the wears of time. Trust me you’ll want to look back on those details after years of marriage to remember all the moments and be brought back to how you felt when you said, “I do”.
The invitation lets your friends and families know you’ve found ‘the one’. It often ties into your wedding colors and theme so it’s a good representation of your big day and is the perfect keepsake. You can choose any style or arrangement you like when it comes to framing your invitation. You might decide to center it and make it the star or perhaps add other mementos to the invitation to create a montage. The framed picture of this couple within the framed invitation is such a cute and original idea! Another great option is to add detail in the mat around your wedding invitation. This works especially well on a simpler invite.
We all know how important a bride’s bouquet is. I think it is such an intimate part of a wedding. Flowers tell a story of the day, the bride and the mood. I have my bouquet hung in my bedroom and every time I look at those dried petals attached to that elegant satin tie around the stems I think of my walk down the aisle to my husband. I can smile now but was so nervous then! With image sharing sites like pinterest, today’s brides can benefit from so many wonderful ideas. These framed bouquets are a few of my favorites but there are endless options! Consider using your full bouquet, keeping it ‘as is’ for a classic look or use just the flowers, leaving off the stems to create a stylized display around a photo or wedding invite.
The wedding dress! Every bride looks like a princess on her day. When your husband to-be catches that first glimpse of you in your dress…oh…no words can describe that moment. Keep that look in your husband’s eye and that memory in your heart every day by displaying your dress rather than have it buried in the back of your closet. Some brides decide to frame the full length of their dress but if space is a factor then you can fold the dress in half, exposing your most cherished embellishments. If you still would like to go even smaller on space framing a piece of the train or a lace detail of the dress might be the way to go.
Another idea is to frame up your wedding shoes or other accessories that are just too pretty to stash away.
Specific wedding objects hold meaning for every couple differently. What makes you laugh or well up with tears from your day? Those feelings are important to hold on to. Vows, sheet music from your first dance, the cork from some wedding bubbly all have significance. Rather than hide those truly important items away choose to keep them out and make them look as special as they feel to you.
When I got married I wasn’t able to frame and protect all of the pieces that were so substantial to my day and time has taken their toll on them. Don’t make the same mistake as I did. Cherish your wedding memories and pay tribute to all the details that made your wedding yours.
