As the capabilities of technology have grown so have our abilities as custom framers and we’re loving it! We’ll tell you what we mean on today’s blog as we discuss The Group of 3 Project.
Before common access and use of smart phones our clients generally had to come into the shoppe in order to present their artwork, explain their décor, discuss design options and select their moulding. Today so much can be done through photos and email exchanges making it even quicker to get your home where you want it to be!
We often ask our clients to take a picture of the place in which they want their art piece to hang. This helps us quickly understand your likes and the spot we’re designing for. We can then better offer suggestions and narrow down moulding options tailored to you and your space. The Group of 3 Project started online. The client reached out to us via email about creating a gallery wall. She sent us a photo along with the measurements of her space and emailed us the content she was considering for the project. After a quick chat to get an understanding of what our client wanted to achieve, we were able to move this project to the next step – content selection.
Because we had a photo and measurements of the space we were working with, from her content options we were better able to suggest what pieces would work best in her space with relation to the quality, size and subject matter. After settling on 3 images that represent different phases in her family life, we drew a quick sketch of our design idea on our trusty desk so our client could visualize the frame design. We wanted to turn these 3 family photos into statement pieces with a contemporary feel.
We decided on oversized, pedestal-style mats and to recess the photos within a deep, thin, contemporary-antique gold metal frame by Larson Juhl. Art glass was used to finish the pieces off.
From there we were able to size and print the images for the project to the specs of the design.
Next came crafting the frames in our workshop, then deliver and install the finished works – all part of our concierge-like service! NEXT
