Adding a second mat to your piece introduces a second element of style and colour to your design. By selecting a neutral mat and have it exposed, as ‘a thin reveal’ will soften your piece in a subtle and stylish way.

​Another amazing trick that is accomplished with mats is disguise! Vintage prints often have edges marked with discolouration. Keeping the signs of aging visible can look amazing in a design but when a client wants to cover them up for a different look adding a mat can completely conceal the unwanted areas.
