The warm weather is here and kids are anticipating the crazy days of summer. They’ve grown over the year. Our teachers have helped shape each child that arrived in the Fall to the more mature and responsible little person that is now. As a parent we want to thank the teachers for the care they give our children and everyone scrambles for gift ideas.
But what do we get the person who has diligently served our children for 10 months of the year? The person who has patience that always amazes. The one who has a gentle demeanor and knowhow and has become a hero in our children’s eye?
There are a lot of DIY ideas to get the entire class involved in making something memorable. It’s fun to get all the children to create a little something and compile it into a framed gift to thank their teacher. Some of our favorite ideas can be found here to help inspire your end of year gift.
But what about when the end of school year comes a bit too quickly and surprises us? Finding time to organize individual artwork from the class is not always feasible. For these times gift certificates are often the best approach to show our gratitude collectively from the class. From my experience gift cards are purchased to a shopping center or spa, placed in a card and given to the teacher. I’d be happy to receive both! But today I’d like to throw another option into the mix.
Presenting the teacher with a beautifully framed gift card to your local frame shop is such a great idea for any teacher’s personality type or gender and accommodates whatever budget you’re working with. Everybody always has something to get framed. A collectible or small trinket they picked up on vacation. Or perhaps the teacher will use it to frame a picture of their 2015-2016 class!
Our gratitude for our children’s teachers does not end with the school year so let's show them just that by giving something that keeps on giving. Having an item that you love framed on your wall gives constant joy for years to come. This is a perfect way to show teachers everywhere that our thankfulness for the work they do stays with us and will always be a part of our children's hearts and minds.
