“Nothing is worth more than laughter. It is strength to laugh and to abandon oneself, to be light.” - Frida Kahl
Rachel is the main framing designer at our Westmount shoppe. This quote, one of her favourites, seems apparent when you meet her. Originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Rachel studied and worked in various areas of the visual arts and has gained insights from her many travels. Her warm smile and demeanor make everyone feel at ease and her creative instinct along with her “roll up the sleeves” approach has shown to be an amazing combination in the custom framing world!

Tell me something about yourself?
I love spending time being active outside or visiting art galleries. I am happiest with my friends and family. To date, what are your top three life experiences? In 2017 I graduated from Mount Allison University with a degree in Canadian Studies and Art History. Last summer, to celebrate my University graduation, my sister and I traveled and lounged in Italy. Two years ago my family went on a trip to India. Together we travelled in the northern Rajasthan region and made some wonderful family memories. What has been your favorite project at Le Frame Shoppe? Why? My favourite project at Le Frame Shoppe was framing an old antique record, which the client tracked down as a present. The client had it re-mastered so that a digital copy of the music can be enjoyed. We framed the record so that it could be placed on display. We chose a gold and black frame with an antique look. It was great to be a part of putting this amazing gift together.
What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most? Why?
Helping clients choose designs that will enable them to enjoy their momentos. Whether it be their accomplishments in a diploma, a holiday card, an art collection, it is fun to hear the stories and make them look great.
What is one of your best moments at Le Frame Shoppe?
The best moment was putting together the mats for the students at the visual arts center. It was wonderful to meet all of the students and see their artwork come in one at a time. The following week the gallery displayed all of their works and it was exciting to see everything come together for a lovely exhibition!
