THE SWEATER PROJECT

​Being a custom framer we have many opportunities to push our techniques and creativity. Today we’re featuring a project with a layer of surprise that hit a personal note with our clients.
 
The Sweater Project was a blast from start to finish. Not only were these clients were great to work with, but we were given the opportunity to add a little bit more to the frame design to really capture the spirit of this piece.

​I’m sure you are familiar with this sweater style and likely have a photo of when you too sported a sweater similar to this one that our client wore as a child in this portrait. It’s incredibly iconic of the time. Those little hearts had to be incorporated somehow into the frame design!

​Inspired from the red of the sweater we chose a red moulding from Fotiou to craft our frame. Our head artisan hand-painted the hearts onto the moulding to mimic the motif of the sweater. We love that the frame design works seamlessly with the portrait of our client as a child and that we got to carry those little hearts onto the frame!
