Being a custom framer we have many opportunities to push our techniques and creativity. Today we’re featuring a project with a layer of surprise that hit a personal note with our clients.
The Sweater Project was a blast from start to finish. Not only were these clients were great to work with, but we were given the opportunity to add a little bit more to the frame design to really capture the spirit of this piece.

I’m sure you are familiar with this sweater style and likely have a photo of when you too sported a sweater similar to this one that our client wore as a child in this portrait. It’s incredibly iconic of the time. Those little hearts had to be incorporated somehow into the frame design!
Inspired from the red of the sweater we chose a red moulding from Fotiou to craft our frame. Our head artisan hand-painted the hearts onto the moulding to mimic the motif of the sweater. We love that the frame design works seamlessly with the portrait of our client as a child and that we got to carry those little hearts onto the frame!
