The wedding veil project

With so many wonderful moments, weddings offer a ton of keepsakes; beautiful flowers, decorations, invitations and of course outfits!

We've framed many wedding momentoes in the past and this stunning veil has become an instant favourite.

Our client was inspired to create an art piece out of her wedding veil. With such intricate details, elegant design elements and of course memoires, a gorgeous piece like this should never sit on a shelf in a box! ​

We decided on one of the floral patterns within the veil to showcase. The excess veil would simply be tucked behind the piece and covered with the backing. The sheer, lacy effect of the veil allowed for a coloured canvas to poke through, which we used as our backdrop to mount the piece on. This gives an extra design layer and adds a wonderful contrast that really lets the veil stand out. The veil has some dimension that needed room within the frame design, so we recessed it slightly behind the glass. ​

We crafted our frame out of a moulding that is fittingly called "Eleganza" in a bone colour by Roma Moulding. The texture of this moulding plays so well with the veil. We then finished the piece off with art class. 

This veil has truly been transformed into an art piece that can be admired everyday!​
