With 2018 coming to an end our hearts are full of gratitude as we look back on all the projects that we were privileged enough to be a part of. We can truthfully say that we love each and every one of them! The clients and stories that came through our shoppes inspired us, and moved us, and we are forever thankful. Here’s a look back on three amazing projects from this year.
The Christening Dress Project:
Being a part of preserving this +70-year-old gown, filled with memories and sentiment was so uplifting. Worn over the generations, this gown became a family heirloom and it was time to ensure that this incredible piece was protected behind glass so that it could continue to be enjoyed for many more years. We designed a floating montage of all the precious items over a stunning fabric mat, used a reverse cut fillet mounting to craft the mini frame for the letter and precisely placed everything within a shadow box that was made using our very own Robert’s cut from cream mouldings.
The Gallery Wall Project:
This incredible gallery wall soon became a favourite as we scanned the many photos of this family through the generations to determine the right fit for this large wall. It felt somewhat like a puzzle where every piece oozed with love to finally tell the story of this family as it all came together. We really got to experience the “wow” moment with our client as we worked on this project from the very start helping to choose the photos along with the framing design, to the very finish with wall placement at installation.
The Yellow Dress Project:
This dress was part of a Christmas present to our client’s husband. It was a dress that started the ‘forever after’ for these two. This project was amazing to be a part of for so many reasons! The sheer size of this piece; creating a perfect sized shadow box by stacking several mouldings, the custom framed photo of the young couple leaned against the dress within the box and the amazing love story that it tells all made it an unforgettable project for 2018.
These projects along with the many others from the year will stay within us and motivate our minds and hearts into 2019.
We want to wish you and your family a happy New Year. May this New Year allow us to dust off old treasures and find some new ones so that old stories can be told again and new stories can start. Here’s to a 2019 of many memories!
