AFTER THE HOLIDAYS

​The presents have been put away and the decorations back in storage for another year. I always find the house seems a little bare at this time of year as the bountiful holiday arrangements disappear. I like this time though because it feels like a clean slate, full of new possibilities for both my lifestyle and living space. We’ve put together a few ideas to help refresh your home while invigorating you to live the best possible 2019! 

​I love looking back on the year in January and remembering all that we’ve done, all the memories that we’ve created and the smiles that we’ve shared as I look ahead and set future goals. Creating a simple gallery wall with these moments can help inspire your plans for the year ahead. What weren’t you able to get to that must make it to this year’s bucket list? What did you do that you never thought possible?  A gallery wall can be as simple as a few key pictures or snapshots of the entire year.

​Seeing a favourite quote or inspirational text on a regular basis is a great way to keep you focused. You can play with the positioning and size of your text within the canvas to create different looks.

​Staying organized is a must to keep your goals on track. ​Look around the house and find objects that inspire you. They don’t have to be conventional pieces of art to become the best wall décor. Whether it is the color, backstory, sentiment or simply an item that you find interesting, frame it up and hang it up. Filling your walls with pieces that trigger something within you will help start the day on the right foot and end it with a smile.

​Mirrors are such an easy way to make a room feel complete. They open up a space and catch the light. Those extra sunshine rays might be just what you need to help tackle the year ahead!
