​Can’t you just smell summer in the air?  It’s a time of carefree playing, gentle breezes and colourful ambiance. So often we show you classic combos of whites, golds and blacks but colour can make a debut this season on your walls with these tips.

​Adding a vibrant mat is probably the easiest way to throw some colour into the mix.  There are countless…and I mean countless colour choices to choose from in the mat department so you can really have some fun! To help you figure out what colour of mat to choose, get inspired by your artwork and select a colourful detail that you can mimic in the mat. Then play with the width of your mat to determine how much colour you want to introduce into your final design.

​Pulling from your artwork for colour inspiration for your mat does not have to mean that you must select an exact match. Keeping within the same colour palette will look just as good and can add an extra layer of interest to your finished piece.

​Then of course there’s the moulding selection! If you’re committed to colour then take a deep breath and jump on in to a stunning, colourful moulding option! The same principals can apply when selecting moulding as done with the mat choice. You can decide to have your moulding be that contrasting flare of colour or have it blend in more with your artwork.

If you can’t decide what colour of moulding to choose, your favourite colours in the same profile can be joined to create a truly unique and ultra cool finish.

For some piece adding a colourful mat and moulding just works. So go for it!
