GALLERY WALL TIPS

It's for good reason that gallery walls are still the rage. They are the ideal way to visually depict what is important to you, your family, your business. They tell a story in a way that other design components can't. The reason? You are the curator. You get to pick the photos or artifacts, achievements and sentimental items that form your personalized gallery wall. Though there are no 'rules' on what to choose when selecting items for your gallery wall, we've put together some of our favourite ideas.​

There is nothing better than a classic black and white gallery wall complete with nostalgic images of your family. Select a variety of photos that make you smile and keep them all within the same black and white tone. For that crisp look, select mouldings that are the same style in either an all-black finish or an all-white finish and hang the pieces in a grid format.

Kids art make colourful and fun gallery walls! Best of all, your little ones will feel extra special as they help you select their favourite pieces for display. Choose thin metallic frames for an elegant finish that will work beautifully with the contrast of the bold art and easily blend within the elevated decor of your home. ​

Why not show off your achievements? You've worked hard for those awards and degrees so put them on display!  Keep the mouldings and mats within a similar style and colour to maintain a unified look. ​

If you rather a gallery wall that is made up of a collection of things; instruments, books, masks, tickets or love letters can all be turned into stunning art for a gallery wall. Depending on the size of your wall, select one or two focal pieces and then expand out with your smaller items.

A mish-mash of frame styles will also help you achieve a look that feels collected over time. Keep the mouldings within a similar tone and/or that compliment each other to complete this aesthetic.
