If you’ve admired a space that feels inviting and warm, but struggled to achieve this look in your own home, you’re not alone. Many of our clients feel that it’s hard to give their space that comforting vibe and make it just right. But with these few tricks we’ll show you that it’s easier than you think.
Instead of trying to fill your walls with “things” shift your focus on making your space an extension of you, filled with your experiences, memories and achievements. Think of your home as an opportunity to tell your story and showcase items that move you. What do you love? Is there a memory that you want to relive on the daily? What makes you smile or motivates you whenever you see it? Number 1: Look back on old photos and scan the scenes for items that trigger memories. Did your mom wear the same apron every time she cooked your favourite cookies? Instead of storing that apron in a drawer, hang it up on the wall.
Number 2:
Consider the unexpected. Often we feel walls should be filled with expensive art but framing an object can add interest and become a statement piece. Maybe you love the violin? Tennis? Go ahead and decorate your home with these items.
Number 3:
Strike a balance between practical and décor. Framing your collections or hobbies not only decorates your walls with items that you love, but as well keeps them organized and out of storage boxes that take up space.
Number 4:
What are you proud of? If you’ve worked hard at something – show it off! It’s a great motivational tool to remind yourself that yes you can do it while celebrating your accomplishment and adding personality to your walls. << NEXT | PREVIOUS >>
