There's something cozy about the cooler months.
This time of year conjures up feelings of nostalgia.
Vintage pieces satisfy our craving of being connected to the past. These one-of-a-kind items are on trend yes, but more they hold meaning. They tell a story of distant people, places and achievements that are important to us whether the history belongs to our family or not. Often we get asked how to incorporate these pieces into an updated space. "Adding older pieces to a home delivers on both character and sentiment."
Vintage items are usually exactly what a space needs to make it feel like home, so it's not as hard as you might think to blend them into a room. The imperfections and age add to the charm and notion of timelessness that make a newer space feel right. Custom making a frame that is just as special opens up the options of where and how to incorporate these pieces into your home. Adding these older items to a gallery wall or creating a moment in an awkward nook, over a mantel, hanging them in a dining room or propping them on a kitchen shelf are all amazing options.
We take a nod to the idea of timelessness when selecting our frame designs for vintage pieces. Our goal is to breathe new life into these older items and as well, help protect them from further damage so that they can be appreciated for many more years. We want to embrace their story. We use a lot of natural elements in our designs, choosing wood mouldings in rustic browns and blacks or selecting traditional metallics. The irregularities like torn edges and stains all contribute to the storytelling so we like to keep those exposed. << NEXT | PREVIOUS >>
