If you’ve ever been curious about what goes into our frame designs, we’re discussing our most frequently asked question: should you frame for the artwork or the area it’s going into, aka the décor? Well, unfortunately it’s not a simple answer because it depends on what the artwork needs to do. What do we mean by this? If the artwork is going up amongst other pieces then we need to consider the décor. The frame design should work with the pieces it will hang beside; what will be around the art. If however, the artwork will stand on its own, in its own space, then we generally frame for the artwork. To further things, there is of course a best-case scenario. Consider everything in the artwork, colour palette and style, and find commonalities in someone’s décor. Confused yet? Our frameopro helps explain. It’s actually not as difficult as you may think to achieve this perfect combo. Chances are if you have been drawn to an artwork there will be similarities in your décor. You like what you like without even knowing it sometimes! The artwork’s tones and style will often be mimicked in your space. And then once we know a little bit more about you, your surroundings and your amazing item we can create the perfect design.
