Designing for an Ambassador comes with unique challenges! We wanted this painting to be elevated, and charming! So time to focus in on the details!
Workers from the Indonesian embassy are giving this incredible painting to the Indonesian Ambassador to Canada. With the red and white details of Canada in the painting, it was an obvious choice to select mouldings in those tones. But we wanted to edge on a more rustic vibe while still maintaining the grandeur of the piece. To do this, we decided on two rustic and weathered-looking wood mouldings from Fotiou and Roma Moulding. The details of these mouldings will create a frame that has an air of sophistication and elegance.
The red and white mouldings were stacked to create a more substantial end frame. The white-toned moulding is slightly thicker and acts as our outer frame. While the red, thinner moulding lies on the inside of the frame design. Both mimic each other's details while serving distinct purposes in the overall design and together create a stunning effect! As always, finishing details are key so the back of the piece has been expertly covered for a clean aesthetic.
