THE YELLOW DRESS PROJECT

Love is in the air as we move toward Valentine’s Day so we’re sharing one of our most romantic projects! Here’s The Yellow Dress Project.
 
Often items represent stories. They remind us of a time, a place and/or of people. So it’s no surprise that many wonderful items brimming with laughter, courage, journeys and memories of all kinds come to our shoppes to be preserved and commemorated.
 
A very special yellow dress made it’s way to us.  This dress, though beautiful, might seem like an ordinary dress to most, but to our clients it represents their love story. This yellow dress was worn when they decided to spend the rest of their lives together! Years and children later, our client chose to frame it and give this sentimental item to her husband.
 
We had to have the dress hang perfectly in a custom shadow box. In order to create the ideal depth we stacked several mouldings to formulate one magnificent frame. The beading on the moulding added just the right amount of elegance.

To further honour our clients’ moment, we crafted a matching frame for a photo of the couple’s younger selves alongside a note. We strategically made this smaller piece lean up against the backdrop of the dress.
