It's forever a treat to be able to breathe new life into an old piece.
Our client made this crewel work in the early 1970s. Here we are, 50-years later, transforming this lovely piece for our client's first granddaughter!
This sepia, beige and brown-toned work will add such a sentimental and stylized touch to the nursery room. To ensure that the piece will continue to compliment the room as her granddaughter matures, we decided on a moulding that has a modern profile with a 70s feel from its natural wood grain that shows through the white stain. This unison of eras makes it timeless! The moulding is in a bone colour and has a gorgeous brown fleck detail that plays off of the work. We used a “wicker” coloured mat by Peterborough to pick up the midtones in the wool. Since this piece will hang above the baby’s crib, acrylic glass was used as it is lighter in weight and less apt to break, making it safer. Our design team thinks of everything! Such a stunning heirloom! << NEXT | PREVIOUS >>
