There's just something intimate about handwriting.
Seeing someone's handwriting instantly conjures memories spent with them and awakens the connection you share(ed) with them. It makes you feel closer to that person in a way.
Our client brought in their grandfather's cursive writing book. The work is about 100 years old! Hitting all kinds of notes, we set to work on the design.
We were asked to showcase the middle five pages of the book. We carefully removed the sheets and pressed the pages flat for the frame design. Each page would be housed within its own separate frame, though the design would be consistent across each one for unison.
The cursive writing within these pages feels regal and definitely of a past time. Browns and metallics felt right for these pieces so we decided on a beaver brown mat for around the sheets and a rubbed-bronze moulding for the frames.
We floated the glass just above the cursive writing sheets and selected art glass for clarity and protection.
The result is stunning! << NEXT | PREVIOUS >>
