There are so many fun ways to add custom details to a framed piece and The Classic Truck Project showcases so many of them!
I love it when a client takes a project and really makes it their own. They choose to highlight items or incorporate touches that speak to them and the experience they are turning into a custom framed piece. As they say “it’s all in the detail”. And custom framing is amazing because these details bring a piece to the next level - to the “wow”.
Our client and his classic truck were featured in a car magazine. A moment that I’m sure he did not want to forget! So we helped capture this memory and tell the story through custom framing and lots of special details! We constructed a shadowbox frame using a lacquered pink moulding and a shiny purple moulding to honour the colors of this awesome truck. We went with our notable Robert’s cut to build up the shadowbox to the exact depth we were looking for and achieve a detailed front face that works so well for this piece.
We raised the featured article and the magazine cover to float above a collage of other pages from the magazine, which adds a ton of interest.
One of my all-time favourite touches is to line the inside of the frame with another colour or material to really elevate the project. In this case we lined the inside of the shadowbox with more magazine articles.
The end result speaks for itself!
