THE TIE PROJECT

With school slowly coming to end for most, we find ourselves clinging to memories of hard work, dedication and many firsts along the way. The Tie Project captured our client’s school years and our hearts.

​Montages are a great way to tell a story. With the ability to add pictures, objects or letters you can get creative and really highlight your moment in a unique expression of you.
 
Presented with four ties, a crest and pins from our client’s alma mater, we were tasked with creating an elegant and impressive display.

Of course we got busy sketching up some designs on our trusty desktop.

​We decided to use raw silks and golds to really deliver on the overall feel of this piece. We placed the ties on top of a black, raw silk mat in a very clean and symmetrical design.
 
In the center we added a cut out, lined with a gold fillet to showcase the crest and pins.
 
We used a stunning gold moulding from Larson-Juhl’s Spencer line to craft our frame and finish off the piece. Museum glass was then added, as the natural choice so that our client’s sentiment items would be protected for many years to come.
