The Doily Project

​We did it... we turned a doily project into a modern, clean-lined masterpiece!

There is so much we love about this project. For starters, doilies are the focus. Turning unexpected objects like this into unique art is always a favourite of ours! ​

​The color is also something that has completely taken us! Our client provided the fabric that was used as the backdrop. We mounted it over a black matboard for stability and to ensure that the rich tone was opaque and enhanced. We just love the warmth that it brings to the piece. We wanted to extend this tone to the frame so selected a honey-stained moulding that we think is absolutely stunning!

And last but not least is the glass choice. Yup, believe it or not there is glass covering the doilies! Art glass provides the ideal clarity for this project!
