We love nothing more than happy, returning customers and "Kathy with a K". This incredible woman is a patron of Le Frame Shoppe and in her eighties still completes the most intricate, complex embroideries! Here's The Grassy Patch Project.
Kathy likes to challenge herself with the more difficult patterns such as our "Rabbit/Hare in Grassy Patch". The layers of threads and different shades of this design give the impression of a rabbit's hair with its silky roundness. So much patience and skill went into this creation so our job through frame design needed to honour this!
Back in 2013, Kathy had another embroidery framed with us and wanted this one to compliment its design. We chose a triple mat design. The large outer mat is in a creamy white to match the linen. Next a shiny gold middle mat is used to bring in a little sunshine. And finally a "grassy patch" green takes the role of inner mat.
We wanted to pick up the texture and colour of the Hare in the work so decided on an ornate, antique silver moulding with a golden brown wash. A non-reflective, conservation quality Art Glass is the finishing touch!
