Talk about a labour of love! This project is exquisite from start to finish!
Our client and her husband create plaster castings of their family's hands. We have had the privilege of framing these masterpieces over the years so you might have seen them in our feed!
Our clients' parents live in India, so she's been waiting to do this project for a long time. Their hands, painted in a vibrant gold along with custom decals were brought to Le Frame Shoppe for the final stage. The casting process is delicate and involved. After patience, sanding and painting our design and artisanal team couldn't wait to pull it all together! The design had to match the impressive subject so we decided on a rich red fabric mat and a series of custom built frames, stacked to create the perfect sized shadow box. Our team wanted to ensure that two methods of mounting were used to secure the hands to the backing. In case one method fails over time, the castings will not budge. We went with a combination of adhesive and screws to carefully attach the hands in several spots. We then burnished the custom decals onto the matboard.
This shadow box is incredible! We custom built it using a triple stacked frame. The top two frames are in a cool gold by Roma Moulding, capped with a decorative accent frame by Verbec. We then stacked these on top of a grey frame by Fotiou to create just the right depth.
Projects like these challenge our team but mostly help us put a smile on our serving clients' faces! We are so thankful to have been a part of these projects!
