A group of 1000 origami cranes, all held together with strings, became a meaningful and remarkable piece of art. Here is The Origami Project.
An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by the gods. Our client made a tassel of 1000 cranes for his fiancée who is now his wife and recently they have welcomed their first child into the world. It appears that the Senbazuru (1000 cranes) ancient legend may have some truth to it!
We untangled and gently spread the strings of cranes out to display each and everyone of them, carefully placing and attaching them over a white linen mat board. We wanted to keep the design fresh with a monochromatic look so continued the white of the mat board to the frame. This allows the work to become the viewer's primary focus. Our design accommodated the 3D nature of this piece with a box frame so that the origami cranes can be seen from the side as well.
This large, stunning work of art is a true labour of love. << NEXT | PREVIOUS >>
